The MTN College Prep Program
The More than Numbers Program provides a year-long college prep program that focuses on the college acceptance, selection & matriculation process. This program is only available for high school seniors within the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Before the academic school year begins, high school seniors within the Atlanta metro area are encouraged to apply to The More than Number's College Prep Program. After reviewing applications, twelve students will be selected.
Once selected, students are paired with their selected MTN Mentor, hold one-on-one preparatory sessions, and attend monthly events. The College Prep Program cohort members will receive resources such as scholarship list, application packets, and much more! They will also get a chance to meet one another through cohort only bonding activities.
Cohort Members will gain skills in resume building, scholarship essay writing, and interviewing while forming relationships with college students and professionals. Their participation in the College Prep Program will make them eligible for the MTN Annual Cohort Scholarship, which is funded and provided by The More than Numbers Youth Program Incorporated.
The program itself is broken down into four phases that are curated to reflect the college admission & selection process.

The mission of The More than Numbers College Prep Program is to create a way for black Atlanta metro students to receive the aid needed to get into a Southern School and HBCU while giving opportunities for growth, connection, and preparation.
Program Phases
Phase 1: Let's Prep!
In Phase One of The More than Numbers Program, Cohort Members will be set up with their MTN Team member. During Phase one, Cohort Members will meet the following criteria

Prepare for College Applications
The dates for Phase One are August 15th - September 30th.
Phase 3: Figuring it Out!
In Phase Three of The More than Numbers Youth Program, Cohort Members will focus on narrowing a college decision, finding funding for college, and graduating from high school. During Phase Three, Cohort Members will meet the following criteria

Have at least two colleges/universities they are deciding between

Have applied for The MTN Scholarship (Cohort Scholarship)

Have an understanding of what their potential colleges offer.
The dates for Phase Three are January 15th - March 31st.
Phase 2: Apply,
Apply, Apply!
In Phase Two of the More than Numbers Program, Cohort Members will focus on applying to the schools determined during their One-on-One college session. During Phase Two, Cohort Members will meet the following criteria

Understand the Next Steps After Applying for College

Have applied to at least ONE college/university early action

Have applied to at least ONE scholarship
The dates for Phase Two are October 1st - December 15th.
Phase 4: Finish Strong!
In Phase Four of The More than Numbers Program, Cohort members will focus on deciding on a school, submitting their decision fee, and planning for steps after high school. During Phase Four, Cohort Members will meet the following criteria

Have Graduated high school
The dates for Phase Four are April 1st- June 15th.
What You Will Gain
The College Prep Program sets students up for success before, during, and after the college application process. The program has been able to help over 30 students get into schools, with over 75% of them gaining a merit-based or outside scholarship.

The 2023-2024 College Preparatory Members
Oluwanifemi Aroworamimo is a 2024 graduate of Westlake High School. As a student, she was in the in the top 25 of her class and was selected as the December cohort member of the month. Nifemi plans to attend Mississippi State University. As a member of the program, she states that her favorite part of the organization is the community, as everyone is there for you and works together to make sure that anything you need is available for you.
Jordan Avery is a 2024 graduate from Community Christian School. As a student, he was a member of the 4.0 club, the National Honors Society, and won the president’s award. Jordan will attend Kennesaw State University. As a member of the program, he states that his favorite part of the program was the one-on-one sessions with his MTN mentor, Kayla.
Ayanna Dailey is a graduating senior at Midtown High School. In school, Ayanna was a member of the JROTC teams and the Color Guard. Ayanna will attend Troy University and also join the military. As a member, she stated that she enjoys the fact that there is a combination of teens from different schools, making the program very diverse.
Zaria Grier a 2024 graduate of Langston High School. Zaria will be graduating from high school at only 16 years old, and will attend Georgia State University. At Langston, she was a basketball manager! As a member, her most notable experience was her one-on-one with her MTN mentor, Khadirah.
Azaria Hawkins is 2024 graduate from Westlake High School. Azaria has held many roles, such as BEE Club Chapter President, 21st Century Leaders Vice President, and many more. Azaria plans to attend Dillard University. Azaria was selected as the February cohort member of the month. Within her time in cohort 5, she states that her favorite part is the people. To Azaria, everyone is so driven and ready to motivate one another to succeed and become better as a whole, not just academically.
Mi’Cai Haywood is the 2024 Valedictorian at Westlake High School plans to attend the University of Southern California. At Westlake, he was the first and only male cheerleader and was also Mister 12th grade. His favorite part about being a member of the 5th cohort was being able to be within the group of his generation’s emerging leaders.
Jerrica Leach graduate from at Arabia Mountain High School. Jerrica has been selected as a 5 Strong Scholar by the 5 Strong Foundation, earning a full tuition scholarship to Savannah State University, where she will be attending. Jerrica was selected as the November cohort member of the month for MTN, and also has been given the 2024 Cohort Member of the Year Award for MTN. For Jerrica, her favorite part about More Than Numbers was having the ability to build bonds and gain mentorship.
Asiah Lightfoot is 2024 senior at Westlake High School. At Westlake, she has been an honor student, was highlighted for receiving above a 1200 SAT, and is a Principal’s Honor Roll member. Asiah was selected as the March Cohort Member of the Month for MTN and will be attending Kennssaw State University. As a member of the college preparatory program, Asiah says that her favorite parts were the opportunities given to her and the support she received.
Latonya Martin is a graduate from Westlake High School, where she was an honors and IB student as well as participated in an internship at Grady. LaTonya will be attending Tuskegee University. For Latonya, she loved how family-oriented More than Numbers was. She described the community as welcoming and appreciated that she was able to connect with others who were going through the same thing as her.
Maya Matthews is 2024 graduate from Westlake High School, where she has been selected as one of the top 21 youth leaders in Georgia. She has also been awarded as the Flag Football Offensive Player of the Year, Miss Women of Westlake, and many more. Maya was selected as the September cohort member of the month for MTN plans to attend Georgia Tech and states that her favorite part as a cohort 5 member is how she can be her authentic self and have fun while receiving the resources she needs and helping the community at once.
Elizabeth McKenzie is a graduate from Westlake High School, where she is a member of the band and the art club. She has been selected for the honor roll and will be attending Georgia State University. Her favorite part about being a member of the More than Numbers Program is the community.
Torrean Mozley a 2024 graduate from Westlake High School, where she is one of the top 25 students in her graduating class. Torrean is also a member of the National Honor Society, Girl Scouts, and the SGA. Torrean plans to attend Tuskegee University. She was also selected as the April Cohort Member of the Month, and she states her favorite part about MTN is the Instagram Live and the group chat.
Desmond Pearl is a senior at Westlake High School, where he served as the SGA Vice President of his class. He has been selected as the DECA Student of the Year, the November Georgia DECA Member of the Month, and the honor roll for his senior year. In addition, Desmond was selected as the October Member of the Month. He will be attending Hampton University. Desmond states that his favorite part about More Than Numbers is the resources provided to him.
Vanessa Thom is a 2024 graduating senior at Woodstock High School, where she has won best attitude on the tennis team, the Scholar Athlete Award for Tennis, and a Certificate of Academic Excellence. Vanessa was selected as a January Cohort Member of the Month for MTN and will be taking her talents to Kennesaw State University. Vanessa is the youngest member of Cohort 5, graduating at 16 years old. Vanessa says that her favorite part of the program was the guidance on how to approach scholarships and pay for college. She says that guidance helped her make smart decisions while applying for college.
